Celebrate Georgia Grown and Georgia made products on Saturday, September 17 at Hardman Farm Historic Site in picturesque Sautee Nacoochee. The Spirit of Appalachia Food, Wine & Art Festival is sponsored by Springer Mountain Farms and produced by the White County Chamber of Commerce in partnership with Georgia Grown. All are welcome at this inaugural event.
The Spirit of Appalachia Food, Wine & Art Festival will feature creations by some of Georgia’s best chefs, juried artists and craftspeople, food industry entrepreneurs, craft breweries and wineries. (Below you will find a partial list of festival participants. Applications continue to come in.)
Local and regional entertainers will provide the soundtrack for the festival. These include Atlanta-based Men in Blues, hipster bluegrass band Radford Windham & Step Back Cadillac, singer songwriter Teddy Baker and storyteller Bobby Adams.
Georgia artists working in pottery, glass art, oil and acrylic painting, water color, the written word, furniture, flint knapping, jewelry, herbal items, wood working, metal smithing, needlework and wine related items will show and sell their work.
Entrance to Georgia’s Spirit of Appalachia Food, Wine & Art Festival is free. Parking is $10 per car. The one dollar tickets for wine and food tastings will be sold on site in increments of 10.
Gates open at 10 a.m. and close at 5 p.m., and the Hardman House will be open throughout the festival for self-guided tours.
Area accommodations range from picturesque bed and breakfasts, to rental cabins, state park lodges and franchise hotels.
